Broadband ISP TalkTalk UK has launched a new Home Mover Service. Home Mover costs just £29.99 for existing TalkTalk customers and £59.99 for new customers and allows users to setup the provision of their TalkTalk service/line in a new property without incurring BT's hefty charges.

Until recently anyone moving house in a non-cable area would have to sign up to BT first before they could switch to another supplier. This often meant that existing TalkTalk customers, for instance, would have to end their current contract, sign up to BT for a 12 months contract in their new property, and then immediately cancel it to switch back, incurring a £120 charge.

Wendy Becker, MD of TalkTalk, said: “Customers have more than enough to worry about when moving home, so we’re pleased to be able to take the hassle – and a lot of the cost – out of the process of getting your home phone and broadband up and running.

Existing TalkTalk customers are being asked to contact TalkTalk on 0870 444 1820 as soon as they have a moving in date – at least 14 days before they move. New customers can call 0800 049 1424 to register for the Home Mover scheme.

Looks like OPEN WARFARE between BT, Plusnet and Talk Talk if the last few post' are anything to go by. This will certainly put a crimp in BT's sails or should it be sales ?

They could have started installing lines ages ago, but now they've finally decided to install new lines for customers....

Sky Broadband now also offers new line installations, which is good because at the time I ordered my package they weren't available and I had to do the whole BT > Sky thing as well. Very annoying.
