c4lBusiness ISP C4L UK has used its recently launched broadband Wireless Leased Line service to provide attendees and organisers of this year's Bournemouth air show (The Bournemouth Air Festival) with FREE Internet access, from the beach, using a symmetric (same speed upload and download) 40Mbps connection.

C4L has set up a wireless point-to-point link between County Gates House and the Cumberland Hotel in Bournemouth in order to provide the hotel rooms, bar and pool area with Internet connectivity.

Etherlive, an Event and Specialist IT services provider, will also be providing access to all attendees watching the Air Show from the beach, as well as giving the Air Show's event organisers some key services, including a number of Wireless VoIP phones.

Matt Hawkins, Managing Director of C4L, commented:

"When we were approached by Etherlive, we were more than happy to oblige to their request of our using our services to provide the Bournemouth Air Show with Internet connectivity. This is a fantastic opportunity for C4L to deploy our Wireless Leased Service to such a high calibre local event.

The introduction of our Wireless Leased Line Service will provide the UK with an alternative connectivity option that can reach areas which traditionally have limited connectivity".

C4L's Wireless Leased Line service has been devised to address the ever increasing gap between broadband speeds in areas close to the telephone exchange, and those further away (rural locations).

Wireless Leased Lines work by transmitting radio, microwave or laser technology frequencies to a receiver giving them a private, uncontended, high speed Internet connection. A similar solution (FiWi) is being used by some smaller ISPs to help connect rural areas with "super-fast" broadband.

The service used in Bournemouth provides connectivity within a three mile radius and C4L already has plans to extend their wireless broadband presence across other parts of the UK this year. According to their website, prices start from £145 +vat per month.

I would recommend any business that relies on their connectivity to not saduse C4L.

We had several services which them once and in less than a year, we had over 40 outages, some with no explanation.

Their technical implementation lacked and often received bills for things that we had never used.

If you get this service, ensure you have a backup from a reputable ISP.

Matthew, we are very sorry to hear you had such an apparent bad experience, however we are not aware of any such incidents where we have had over 40 outages on our services. The majority of our customers would vouch for C4L and its solutions so we would love to hear from you, to discuss the problems you faced and try to rectify any negative experiences you had with us. Perhaps you could call us and ask to speak to Dan Warren, our Customer Service Manager, who would be only too please to assist you.
