virgin media ukCable giant Virgin Media is making its home broadband internet access and phone packages available on a 9 month contract, although the offer is only open to student customers. In addition Virgin are also giving NUS Extra student cardholders 15% off whatever they spend on Virgin Mobile and Mobile Broadband every month.

Prices start from £10 £20 per month for a standalone 10Mbps broadband package with "unlimited" downloads (Traffic Management); a 20Mbps option is also available. Virgin's phone calls and line rental can also be bundled if required and Virgin Media are offering FREE activation for NUS Extra cardholders.

The 9 month contract is particularly good for students that won't be in the house for 12 months. I had this contract and didn't have to pay for broadband throughout the summer when I wasn't actually there like some of my friend did :cheese. Virgin really are quite good for <a href="http://www.studentvalue.co.uk/communications.php">student broadband</a>
