ispa uk 2011 internet awardsThe UK Internet Service Providers Association ( ISPA ) has officially opened registration for 2012's ISPA Awards, which aims to identify and celebrate the best of the country's Internet industry. Two new categories have been added to this year's roster - Best New ISP and the Customer Choice Award.

The 'Best New ISP' gong is open to internet access providers (ISP) that have entered the market in or after July 2010. The 'Customer Choice Award' is open to ISPs that offer access to consumers and will be chosen by customers of ISPs that enter (the ability to rate your ISP will open up after registration closes in January).

Nicholas Lansman, ISPA Secretary General, said

"As the voice of the internet industry for the last 15 years, ISPA has seen the industry develop and grow and since 1999 we have hosted the ISPA Awards to mirror that success. 2012 will be the 14th annual awards and, as in previous years, we expect to see that the innovation and passion for providing quality services is as strong as ever."

Companies now have until the 27th January to register for one or more of the 13 categories and do not have to be an ISPA member to enter. The winners will be presented on the 3rd July 2012 at an award ceremony hosted at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London.

Speculative Invoicer, private data leaker & copyright troll Andrew Crossley who is the reigning Internet Villain of 2011 has to be favourite to retain his title. Mr Crossley will be facing his third Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in January 2012.
Mr Crossley faces stiff opposition from his former employee Terence Tsang who has now resurfaced as Terenece Jintin working at another London law firm.
Other front runners for the Internet Villain award from ACS:Law such as Adam Glen and Jonathan Miller (aka Miller-Mandil) and Leyla Mehru (aka Leyla Shahin)are still at large.

Who cares these awards are worthless and only ever take into account a handful of big player providers. Oh and anyone that can stump up sponsorship money.

@bpaw,
Yes indeed another worthy candidate Mr Ben Dover, why go to the trouble of proving anything, just send the invoices out.

I forgot to mention the two gentlemen from Davenport Lyons too, Brian Miller and David Gore who were found guilty on all six charges at their SDT hearing for speculative invoicing, fined and given suspensions but refused to apologise to the people they had scammed.

Mr Tsang has to be in with a good chance though, going to the trouble of changing his name to Jintin and going to the trouble of hiding his profile page at his new place of work from search engines. http://www.psb-law.co.uk/pagess/member-6/
