Internet porn sites could be automatically blocked as part of a plan to protect children from graphic imagines online, David Cameron will suggest tomorrow. It emerged tonight that ministers are to consult on whether adults wanting to view porn should be forced to “opt in” in order to access erotic sites. The Prime Minister will announce that the current law needs to be examined to ensure that families can use the internet in safety. His move will be seen as part of a relaunch after weeks of setbacks, including a badly received Budget and what were expected to be poor results in today’s local elections. The decision to explore the option, which will anger some internet service providers, came after a Downing St breakfast meeting of creative industry figures today.
