Interesting, that probably explains why they have stopped processing their payments by credit card then - any money banked through their merchant account would just get swallowed up by their overdue overdraft. All sounds very dodgy to me.

Steve K
I am sure all your ex customers are now wondering why you sold V21 to Biscit in the first place if the business was so successful only to start a new venture in Fast4

Hello

As my 2 other collegues have posted messages about what has happened I thought it only right to comment.

Biscit were indeed supposed to remove us from several guarantees and have not done any of this to date. The statement made by Steve Deacon is a very clear account of the state of play with the bank. The account was indeed frozen by the bank and not closed by Biscit. Biscit didn't remove us from the overdraft guarantee meaning there was insufficient security to keep the account active.
We have all wanted to say something when we saw the statements made with regards cheques bouncing. There is of course little else we can talk about at the moment as we are in a legal battle with Biscit at this time.

As Steve Kaye has said WE WILL WIN and we will gladly post the information once we do.

Horizontal

You were asking why we sold to biscit, the only comment I can make at the moment is that we truely wish we hadn't !

I don't think getting a company wound up is that easy if they resist. A friend of mine was 'paid' with a rubber cheque for some work he did for a business and the work he previously did for the owner privately. The owner got him to present the cheque several times with various excuses, then tried to renegotiate the fee, then when that didn't work, refused to pay for either job because of 'faults' with the work done for his business. It eventually ended up in a court trying to wind up the company, the company's lawyer presented a huge pile of 'evidence' the judge took one look and said it would have to go to a full hearing or something. Anyway he was advised it wasn't worth proceeding.

About six months later, he got a letter from the business's solicitors asking him if he had any contact details for this chap that ripped him off because he hadn't paid them either (I'm sure you can guess his reply )

Are we not missing something here, as far as I recall, V21 wasn't whiter than white in it's dealings with customers.

No, fair point ... but I don't think any company, let alone an ISP can claim to be that.

But at least you could contact them, and 9 times out of 10 they sorted your problem out, however with Biscit I can't find a single positive to say about them. Even their name is open to ridicule.

If all these statements are true then it appears they have conned the previous owners, their bank, their creditors and more importantly they have conned their previously loyal customers, and they are still doing it.

If the details about the bank are true, then this would mean Hugh openly lied about the whole situation. You have then got to ask yourself what else has he lied about ?

and Hugh, just to cover my own backside this is purely my opinion and not an accusation, because i'm sure the truth will out soon enough

As one of those directly affected by Biscit's bank account being frozen, I wish to aploud you 2 gentlemen for being prepared to speak the truth.

I knew the bank account had not been closed (didn't think about it being frozen) as the bank kept asking for the cheque to be re-submitted. If the account had been closed, the bank would have known this and wouldn't even had tried submitting the cheque again.

You will win and to give you encouragement, the media are quietly watching and investigating the entire Biscit fiasco. I can't say too much, but they are extremely interested in this story and one source told me only last week "We have a very good idea what is going on now. This story is far bigger than any of us realised". I will pass this link on to them for info.

If you feel it will help, PM me, I can pass any info on or get someone to call you.

In fairness, I imagine that the ex V21 directors can talk about the situation that much - especially if its going to court. However, "common knowledge" subjects (such as financial situation of V21 and non-payment of bills) I'd imagine they can comment on - its not as if they're telling anything new there

Paterson told the Reg: "I've resigned so I can concentrate on future developments. But the rest of this is overblown. The bounced cheques were just an administrative error - we closed an account but everyone has now been refunded. There are no financial problems and our rent is up to date. We have a good core of staff although there were some redundancies earlier in the year."

Everyone has been refunded?
I don't think so.
They still owe me 91.00 in overcharges. Case is currently going through the county court.
The defense they filed was "we have no records of any V21 customers payments, plaintiff must supply bank statements to verify".

I'm away from from EzeeDSL too, the worlds worst run ISP, but expect to be doing battle with them soon over the 12 month contract.

I knew the forcing of customers to just one ISP by NS was the wrong way to go. \I thought NS had learnt their lesson when Gio folded and they ended up having to allow the customers access to all their supplied ISPs but rumour has it this time NS had signed a deal with eezeedsl for a payment for each customer that signed up wonder if the payment was linked to how long you guys stay with eezeedsl.

At least one good thing from this mess is the freedom you know have to have your MAC codes even NS have to comply.
