Customers of PlusNet can finally regain access to the ISPs website, webmail and members centre services again after they were restored this morning following an unspecified failure that began yesterday afternoon.
The problems started at just after 2pm yesterday when existing and prospective customers of the provider began to notice that PlusNet’s website wasn’t functioning correctly, although the issue was initially resolved at 6:24pm.
Adam Walker, PlusNet Support, said (27/08/2015 – 16:08):
“As you may notice we’re experiencing some problems with access to our website and also our internal systems.
This means that we won’t be able to view your account when calling us and can only offer generic advice so we’d advise not calling unless there’s an urgent issue at the moment.
As you may guess this means we’re unable to make a service status announcement.”
However it wasn’t long before PlusNet’s website and related community services went offline again at 7:34pm, although this time the reason was because they had decided to conduct some “emergency maintenance” following the earlier failure and “put holding pages on most of our community site“.
The good news is that their web services finally came back online a few minutes ago, although there’s still no explanation for what caused the problems. Mind you such faults do sometimes occur and indeed TalkTalk suffered a similar, if a little more protracted, outage last week (here).
UPDATE 12:37pm
PlusNet’s Community website appears to have gone offline again.
