UK ISP Andrews & Arnold (AAISP), which until now has historically only sold fixed broadband and phone services via Openreach’s national network, has today become the latest internet provider to announced that they’ll soon be launching a range of ultrafast and gigabit speed packages via CityFibre’s full fibre network.
The first broadband customers on ISP BeFibre‘s new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, which is being built across parts of the UK by network operator Digital Infrastructure, have today gone live in the Essex (England) town of Brentwood – one of their original build locations.
A new scheme – the Dryden project – has been started in one of Sheffield’s most disadvantaged areas, which will see partners work together to help tackle digital poverty by connecting up 360 homes on a council estate in Southey Green to FTTP broadband – using this as a platform to help train new engineers from the local community.
Mobile operator Three UK has informed us that they’ve slightly lowered the standard charge on their 5G based unlimited Home Broadband packages from £21 to £20 per month on a 24-month term. But on the flip side those in 4G-only areas will now be paying the same price (earlier this year it was just £14).
UK ISP BT has updated their existing range of discounts, not least by boosting the value on some of their included reward vouchers (preloaded MasterCards) and also shaving an extra pound or two off the existing offer prices for their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) packages. Some FTTP plans also include a 1-month free speed boost.
Mobile and broadband providers Vodafone and O2 (VMO2) have today become the last two major UK network operators to reach a special deal with infrastructure firm BAI Communications (BAI), which will enable them to deploy 4G and 5G based mobile services across the entire London Underground (stations and tunnels).
