Internet provider TalkTalk has today become the latest to launch a new batch of discounts for Christmas, which are being headlined by the offers of 18 months free unlimited broadband (up to 17Mbps) or 12 months free unlimited “Superfast Fibre Broadband” (up to 38Mbps FTTC).

Sky Broadband informs that they will today launch a Christmas and New Year offer on their ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband package, which will make the service free for the first 12 months (£10 a month thereafter) and they’re also throwing in a £50 M&S e-voucher. Elsewhere Sky Fibre (up to 38Mbps) is also being cut to just £5 per month.

UK ISP TalkTalk has advised that new and existing customers of their TV (YouView) offering broadband and phone bundles will benefit from free access to six premium channels over the Christmas holiday period.

New customers who choose to sign-up with BTInfinity’s ‘up to’ 38Mbps capable broadband (FTTC) packages should note that the one-off activation has just been increased from £39 to £49 (note: it’s still free on the 76Mbps package), which is up from the last jump of £35 to £39 that occurred in October.

Budget ISP Direct Save Telecom claims to have launched the United Kingdom’s “cheapest broadband deal” by offering an unlimited ‘up to’ 17Mbps capable package for just 95p per month, which combines with phone line rental that only costs £11.50 per month when paid for a year in advance.

In a surprise development Virgin Media has this afternoon decided to introduce a 6 month discount on their standalone superfast 50-200Mbps cable broadband packages, which doesn’t require customers to take out a separate phone service.

BT has today prepared for Black Friday by cutting the price of both their unlimited ‘up to’ 17Mbps broadband and 38Mbps BTInfinity packages, while also throwing in a prepaid MasterCard (worth £50 to £100), a £50 Love2shop voucher and reducing the BTSport Pack contract to just 30 days.

Sky will today join the “Black Friday” fun (even though it’s Monday) by offering their ‘up to’ 17Mbps Sky Broadband Unlimited package free for the first 12 months (£10 a month thereafter). Subscribers can also pick either a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, £100 M&S or Tesco voucher or £100 Prepaid MasterCard.

BT’s Consumer division has once again reduced the prices of their ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband and superfast ‘up to’ 38Mbps BTInfinity packages, with both now starting at £5 and £10 per month respectively for the first 12 months of service. Sainsbury’s vouchers worth up to £100 are also included.

Communications and TV provider Virgin Media has today extended the discount period on their various ‘up to’ 50Mbps to 200Mbps capable broadband and phone bundles, which means that new customers can now get a reduced price for 12 months instead of the previous 9 month offer period.
