Customers of Virgin Media’s cable broadband service, specifically some of those with ntlworld.com, blueyonder.co.uk and virginmedia.com based ‎email addresses, have since Friday been suffering from an intermittent problem that is hampering their access via the ISPs Webmail and IMAP system.

Cable operator Virgin Media has quietly announced that their UK network of public WiFi Hotspots has once again been expanded to cover an additional 100 London Underground Tube stations (total 250).

Cable Internet, phone and TV provider Virgin Media (Liberty Global) has published their results to the end of Q3 2015, which reveals that they added +55,500 (net) UK broadband customers in the quarter to make for a total of 4,625,800 (43% take their 100Mbps+ services).

A few months ago we revealed that Virgin Media planned to turn their customers SuperHub cable broadband routers into public WiFi hotspots so that others could access the Internet when nearby (here), but nasty bugs have now delayed it to 2016.

Last month Virgin Media dashed hopes a little by increasing their top cable (EuroDOCSIS3) broadband speeds from 152Mbps to 200Mbps, which was below the long predicted rate of 300Mbps (here). But the ISP has today confirmed that a 300Mbps service will come, albeit initially only for businesses.
