{"id":1093,"date":"2012-06-20T13:33:40","date_gmt":"2012-06-20T12:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=1093"},"modified":"2012-06-23T07:11:08","modified_gmt":"2012-06-23T06:11:08","slug":"budget-isp-plusnet-hike-cost-annual-uk-phone-line-rental","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/06\/budget-isp-plusnet-hike-cost-annual-uk-phone-line-rental.html","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE Budget ISP PlusNet to Hike the Cost of Annual UK Phone Line Rental"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Internet provider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/plusnetuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">PlusNet<\/a> looks set to raise the price of its pre-paid <strong>Line Rental Saver<\/strong> service by around <strong>\u00a31<\/strong> next month, which means that some of their broadband bundles could end up costing a little more than they do today.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The change, which was originally due to take place yesterday but has since been delayed to July, means that customers whom opt to save money by paying 12 months of their phone line rental in advance (currently \u00a3113.88 or \u00a39.49 a month) will now be charged \u00a3125.88 (\u00a310.49 a month) instead.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/plusnetuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">PlusNet<\/a>&#8217;s parent provider, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a>, made a similar adjustment not so long ago and now also charges the equivalent of \u00a310.75 a month for its Line Rental Saver service. It&#8217;s understood that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/plusnetuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">PlusNet<\/a>&#8217;s standard monthly line rental charge will remain unchanged at \u00a312.99 (\u00a3155.88).<\/p>\n<p>Separately the ISP is continuing to offer <strong>\u00a350 Cashback<\/strong> to new customers of their standard broadband and phone bundles, which come with free calls, a free router and free activation (normally worth \u00a325).<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE 23rd June 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for PlusNet has informed us that the price change, which briefly appeared on their website, has since been taken down and is being regarded as an &#8220;<em>admin error<\/em>&#8220;.
