{"id":11373,"date":"2016-03-18T13:46:19","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T13:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=11373"},"modified":"2016-03-18T13:46:33","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T13:46:33","slug":"three-uk-see-mobile-broadband-data-usage-surge-5gb-per-user","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/03\/three-uk-see-mobile-broadband-data-usage-surge-5gb-per-user.html","title":{"rendered":"Three UK See Mobile Broadband Data Usage Surge to 5GB Per User"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a>, which claims to carry 42% of the United Kingdom&#8217;s mobile data traffic, reports that their existing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/3g\">3G<\/a> and ever expanding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/4g\">4G<\/a> network coverage has pushed the average data usage per customer from 500MB (MegaBytes) in 2010 to 3.3GB (GigaBytes) in 2014 and it\u2019s now 5GB.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Apparently the total data traffic on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a>&#8217;s network has grown by over 1100% since 2010 and over 1 million of their customers are now able to make calls in more places following the introduction of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/4g\">4G<\/a> Super-Voice (Voice over LTE).<\/p>\n<p>On top of that it&#8217;s noted that 3 million customers have enjoyed roaming at no extra cost with<strong> Feel At Home<\/strong> and the average data usage per customer in Feel At Home countries has jumped from 1.6GB in 2014 to 3GB in 2015. As a result the operator claims that their customers have now saved \u00a32.6 billion in roaming charges since the introduction of Feel At Home.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Dave Dyson, CEO of Three UK, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We continue to focus on delivering a quality customer experience and addressing the issues that frustrate consumers.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve worked hard to tackle high roaming charges and we&#8217;re committed to building on our progress to improve indoor coverage.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mind you one of the &#8220;<em>issues that frustrate consumers<\/em>&#8221; was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a>&#8217;s decision to scrap their old &#8220;all-you-can-eat&#8221; data tariffs not so long ago, but obviously that&#8217;s unlikely to get a big mention in their PR.
