{"id":11375,"date":"2016-03-19T08:01:18","date_gmt":"2016-03-19T08:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=11375"},"modified":"2016-03-19T08:07:14","modified_gmt":"2016-03-19T08:07:14","slug":"unicoms-parent-verastar-gobbles-uk-isp-business-comms-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/03\/unicoms-parent-verastar-gobbles-uk-isp-business-comms-solutions.html","title":{"rendered":"Unicom&#8217;s Parent VERASTAR Gobbles UK ISP Business Comms Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Telecoms and broadband company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.verastar.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">VERASTAR<\/a> (aka &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.universalutilities.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Universal Utilities<\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/www.switchingon.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Unicom<\/a>), which was fined \u00a3200k by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ofcom\" target=\"_blank\">Ofcom<\/a> last year after they were found to have mislead consumers (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/07\/ofcom-fine-isp-unicom-gbp200k-for-mis-leading-sales-and-marketing.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/01\/sheffield-dinner-lady-wins-compensation-from-troubled-uk-isp-unicom.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>), has confirmed that they&#8217;ve finalised the purchase of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.premiercalls.co.uk\/home\" target=\"_blank\">Premier Calls<\/a> parent company, Business Comms Solution.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Curiously there&#8217;s been no formal announcement about the deal, although one of our readers noted that the company had confirmed the development via a post on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk\/threads\/nine-telecom-vs-optimum-calls-where-do-i-stand.353265\/page-3#post-2637032\" target=\"_blank\">UK Business Forums<\/a>. Apparently customers of Premier Calls will also be having their broadband connections transferred to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TalkTalk<\/a>&#8217;s network (we assume that&#8217;s the wholesale side).<\/p>\n<p>The purchase comes after Business Comms Solution Ltd (also trading under the Advantage, Optimum, Premier and Talk Plus brands) confirmed during January 2016 that it had been in dispute with its former wholesale provider of telecoms services, Club Communications which trades as Nine Wholesale, as well as Nine Wholesale\u2019s sister company, Nine Telecom.<\/p>\n<p>The dispute was settled and a joint statement issued to say that, &#8220;<em>Both BCS and Nine Wholesale\/Nine Telecom regret any confusion or inconvenience that may have arisen from <\/em><em>our recent communications and are glad that we can now draw a line under our dispute. Thank you for your understanding and co operation.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately the situation caught a lot of customers up in the middle and further confusion began occurring in February after customers reported that their phone and broadband connections were changed without prior notification, which appears to be due to the VERASTAR purchase.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Verastar Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In response to comment surrounding Premier Calls in recent days. We would like to confirm that Verastar Ltd have finalised the purchase of Premier Calls parent company, Business Comms Solution Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>Verastar appreciate that this has been a confusing time for Premier Calls customers and we thank you for your patience. You will continue to be serviced and invoiced by Premier Calls.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst we aim to continue to deliver an outstanding service during this period we understand there may be questions or issues.
