{"id":11814,"date":"2016-05-31T12:29:22","date_gmt":"2016-05-31T11:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=11814"},"modified":"2016-05-31T12:30:07","modified_gmt":"2016-05-31T11:30:07","slug":"vodafone-uk-new-mini-base-stations-boost-london-mobile-cover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2016\/05\/vodafone-uk-new-mini-base-stations-boost-london-mobile-cover.html","title":{"rendered":"Vodafone UK Trial 700Mbps Mini Base-Stations to Boost 4G in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A joint roll-out of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a> and Ericsson&#8217;s new portable mini base-station radio units (<em>Ericsson Radio System<\/em>), which are about half the size and weight of a standard radio unit that would usually need to be craned up a building, is being used to boost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/4g\">4G<\/a> mobile signals and data speeds around London.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Apparently the new kit also offers three times the capacity of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a>&#8217;s traditional hardware (largely thanks to its support for three-way Carrier Aggregation via LTE-Advanced technology) and, as well as being easier to deploy on rooftops in urban areas, they&#8217;re also more energy efficient.<\/p>\n<p>The first trial until has already been installed in the <strong>Southwark<\/strong> area of London and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a> will soon begin &#8220;<em>rolling out the new system across the capital and in other urban areas<\/em>&#8220;.
