{"id":13790,"date":"2017-04-20T07:55:24","date_gmt":"2017-04-20T06:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=13790"},"modified":"2017-04-20T08:05:21","modified_gmt":"2017-04-20T07:05:21","slug":"bt-tv-slowly-close-old-vision-iptv-set-top-boxes-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2017\/04\/bt-tv-slowly-close-old-vision-iptv-set-top-boxes-content.html","title":{"rendered":"BT TV Slowly Closing Down Old Vision IPTV Set-Top-Boxes and Content"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a> has announced that broadband TV customers who are still using their old &#8216;Vision&#8217; set-top-box (IPTV) will have to adopt the newer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/youview\" target=\"_blank\">YouView<\/a> based kit because the content for their older hardware is slowly being removed, with all extra channels and VOD set to be gone by the end of 2017.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The ISP has already phased out their earliest silver coloured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a> Vision box (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2014\/04\/bt-scrap-bt-vision-broadband-iptv-box-replace-youview.html\">here<\/a>) and now the revised hardware, which existed just before the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/youview\" target=\"_blank\">YouView<\/a> platform was adopted, is following suit. The good news is that existing customers (those who have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a> Vision account) will be entitled to a free upgrade.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>BT Vision Announcement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I would like to share some important information in relation to the BT Vision service. As you may already be aware, BT will be turning off parts of the platform in the coming months. Here are some important dates,<\/p>\n<p>28th April 2017 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/bbc\" target=\"_blank\">BBC<\/a> IPlayer will no longer be available on BT Vision<\/p>\n<p>31st May 2017 \u2013 PSB free-to-air HD channels will no longer be available on BT Vision.<\/p>\n<p>31st May 2017 \u2013 On demand service for ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 will no longer be available on BT Vision<\/p>\n<p>Later this year we will be closing BT Vision where access to all extra channels and VOD will be removed. For existing customers who have a BT Vision account, you will be entitled to a free upgrade to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/youview\" target=\"_blank\">YouView<\/a> box. You will receive an invite via email, letter and messages through your BT Vision box.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Customers were warned about the forthcoming change earlier this year, although until now there hasn&#8217;t been a detailed timetable.
