{"id":14357,"date":"2017-07-27T12:07:22","date_gmt":"2017-07-27T11:07:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=14357"},"modified":"2017-07-27T12:07:22","modified_gmt":"2017-07-27T11:07:22","slug":"cityfibre-preps-new-1gbps-fttp-network-businesses-wakefield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2017\/07\/cityfibre-preps-new-1gbps-fttp-network-businesses-wakefield.html","title":{"rendered":"Cityfibre Preps New 1Gbps FTTP Network for Businesses in Wakefield"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fibre optic developer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">Cityfibre<\/a> has today announced that they&#8217;re teaming up with internet service provider <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ngcnetworks.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NGC Networks<\/a> in order to support a 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premise (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) based broadband and Ethernet network in the West Yorkshire city of Wakefield.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Readers with a keen eye will recall that <strong>Wakefield&#8217;s<\/strong> existing dark fibre optic network was one of those that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">Cityfibre<\/a> acquired from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/kcom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">KCOM<\/a> at the end of 2015 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2015\/12\/cityfibre-secure-gbp180m-financing-and-grabs-kcoms-uk-network-assets.html\">here<\/a>), which the operator now aims to commercialise and use to connect local businesses in the city. NGC Networks is also partnering with the operator in order to help deliver Gigabit speeds to businesses in Bradford and Huddersfield.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Jason Petrou-Brown, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">Cityfibre<\/a>&#8217;s Senior Business Manager for the North, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled to be working with NGC Networks as we transform the UK\u2019s digital infrastructure.
