On top of that they&#8217;ve also removed fixed term contracts!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sadly this also means that non-SSE Energy customers will pay a \u00a35 per month surcharge on their Phone and Broadband package, as well as a one off initial \u00a350 connection fee (existing SSE customers don&#8217;t have to pay this). On the other hand the provider does at least &#8220;<em>guarantee<\/em>&#8221; that their &#8220;<em>prices will be fixed for three years &#8230; so customers don\u2019t have to worry about them going up.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Otherwise all of the three related bundles include an unlimited usage allowance (note: the <a href=\"https:\/\/sse.co.uk\/cs\/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&amp;blobkey=id&amp;blobtable=MungoBlobs&amp;blobwhere=1410791066636&amp;csblobid=NoYs6-O2ZaeummHAWfi9sOFkcbw6ijwu1akHbq6ncXAUbT34ATvm%21133748857%211503992210358&amp;ssbinary=true\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fair Usage Policy<\/a> includes Traffic Management, which is fairly vague but will probably hit P2P use), a free wireless router and line rental. At this point the eagle eyed will notice that SSE&#8217;s package refresh has also dropped free evening and weekend calls in favour of standard \/payg call charges (note: you can still add Anytime calls, albeit at extra cost).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>SSE Everyday Broadband<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<em>* Download speeds of up to 17Mbps<\/em><\/p>\n<p>PRICE: \u00a321 per month (\u00a326 non-SSE Energy customers)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>SSE Superfast Fibre Broadband<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<em>* Download speeds of up to 38Mbps<\/em><\/p>\n<p>PRICE: \u00a328 per month (\u00a333 non-SSE Energy customers)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>SSE Ultrafast Fibre Broadband<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<em>* Download speeds of up to 76Mbps<\/em><\/p>\n<p>PRICE: \u00a335 per month (\u00a340 non-SSE Energy customers)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In fairness the price for non-SSE Energy customers is still reasonably competitive, although it&#8217;s not quite enough to beat the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">TalkTalk<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/plusnetuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Plusnet<\/a> and First Utility etc. Mind you the latter all have lengthy contract terms and SSE does not, which makes a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>However there is one exception to the no fixed term contracts pledge. If you wish to leave SSE for your Broadband within 12 months of your start date, then they will send you a pre-paid postage envelope for the return of your router.
