{"id":1473,"date":"2012-08-16T08:25:49","date_gmt":"2012-08-16T07:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=1473"},"modified":"2012-08-16T08:25:49","modified_gmt":"2012-08-16T07:25:49","slug":"jt-boost-jersey-ultrafast-ftth-broadband-rollout-as-dialup-service-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/08\/jt-boost-jersey-ultrafast-ftth-broadband-rollout-as-dialup-service-ends.html","title":{"rendered":"JT Boost Jersey Ultrafast FTTH Broadband Rollout as Dialup Service Ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jtglobal.com\/Global\/\" target=\"_blank\">JT Global<\/a> (formerly Jersey Telecom) has signed a new deal with Swedish open access network specialist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netadminsystems.com\" target=\"_blank\">Netadmin Systems<\/a> to help it manage the operation and roll-out of their ultra-fast <strong>fibre optic<\/strong> broadband (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ftth\">FTTH<\/a>) service to <strong>42,000 premises<\/strong> on <strong>Jersey<\/strong> (<em>Channel Islands<\/em>) within the next 3 years.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>JT began connecting the first homes and businesses around La Rocque, Fauvic and La Moye to a trial of its new <strong>100Mbps+<\/strong> capable network earlier this year (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/story\/2012\/02\/13\/jersey-telecom-connects-first-residents-to-superfast-fibre-optic-broadband.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>), which incidentally forms part of their wider \u00a340m <strong>Gigabit Isles<\/strong> strategy that also includes faster services for neighbouring <strong>Guernsey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s understood that Netadmin&#8217;s related solution has also been in place since December 2011, albeit only as part of an initial pilot scheme, and will now be rolled out across the whole project. The solution itself will help JT to automate the service fulfilment \/ assurance processes and provide a &#8220;<em>user friendly platform<\/em>&#8221; for JT and other local ISPs &#8220;<em>on and off the island<\/em>&#8221; to launch their services. Cisco, Genexis and Dimension Data are also involved in the project.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Dave Newbold, JT\u2019s Chief Operations and Technology Officer, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>With the implementation of a full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ftth\">FTTH<\/a> network planned, and such an advanced network management system soon in place, Jersey is one of the most innovative and commercially viable environments to do business in the Western hemisphere<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Torbj\u00f6rn Sandberg, CEO of Netadmin, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>JT is well ahead in the planning to implement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ftth\">FTTH<\/a> to every single property.
