New subscribers to Vodafone<\/a>’s unlimited ‘up to’ 38Mbps and ‘up to’ 76Mbps capable FTTC<\/a> based home “fibre broadband<\/em>” packages can now get the service for even less after the operator reduced their monthly prices for the full 18 month contract term, which makes them one of the cheapest ISPs.<\/p>\n

The packages all include a wireless router, unlimited usage, phone line rental, Parental Controls, 6 months of free F-Secure anti-virus software for up to 5 devices and an 18 month contract term. In addition, neither of the options requires you to pay a one-off setup fee for activation, although if you happen to need a brand new line installed then that may carry a \u00a360 one-off installation cost.<\/p>\n

We should caution that this sort of pricing level does cut increasingly close to the bone and Vodafone are clearly in the mind-set of attracting as many new customers as possible (a common tactic for new services), which they appear to have been doing with quite some success (they’ve been adding more new broadband subscribers, per quarter, than BT<\/a> for the whole of 2017).<\/p>\n

The downside of this approach is that it can lead to problems with service and support quality further down the road as providers may struggle to adapt to the demands of a rapidly rising customer base. But so far Vodafone are doing well and if saving money is a priority then it will be difficult to find anybody cheaper.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
