{"id":1579,"date":"2012-09-04T10:35:59","date_gmt":"2012-09-04T09:35:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=1579"},"modified":"2012-09-04T10:35:59","modified_gmt":"2012-09-04T09:35:59","slug":"o2-uk-claim-remote-working-services-to-drive-business-broadband-uptake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/09\/o2-uk-claim-remote-working-services-to-drive-business-broadband-uptake.html","title":{"rendered":"O2 UK Claim Remote Working Services to Drive Business Broadband Uptake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Communications provider <a href=\"http:\/\/www.o2.co.uk\/wholesale\" target=\"_blank\">O2 Wholesale<\/a> UK (formerly BE Wholesale) has surveyed 100 companies in the UK IT industry and revealed that 70% expect &#8220;<em>uptake<\/em>&#8221; of fixed broadband ISP services to increase over the next 6 months, with demand for <strong>remote working<\/strong> being the dominant factor.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Some 73% of businesses expected to see broadband uptake increasing as a result of remote working, while 58% anticipated more demand for services in the Cloud (online storage and applications) and 32% highlighted adoption of the <strong>Bring Your Own Device<\/strong> (BYOD) policy (i.e. allowing employees to bring their own mobile devices to their place of work) as influencing uptake.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly only 46% of those surveyed, some of which were ISPs, felt\u00a0their end-user customers were aware that the growing use of remote working, cloud and BYOD solutions could add extra strain to the existing broadband network. <strong>Dan Cunliffe<\/strong>, Head of Strategy and Partners at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/o2uk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">O2<\/a> Wholesale, said, &#8220;<em>The results clearly show that quality fixed broadband is a major potential growth opportunity<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>When asked to list the most important qualities for a wholesale broadband supplier, <strong>reliability was deemed most important<\/strong>, followed by service \/ IT support, then download speeds and lastly &#8220;<em>unlimited<\/em>&#8221; usage.
