{"id":16337,"date":"2018-06-18T00:01:39","date_gmt":"2018-06-17T23:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=16337"},"modified":"2018-06-18T09:13:26","modified_gmt":"2018-06-18T08:13:26","slug":"virgin-media-tv-customers-with-netflix-to-get-single-billing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2018\/06\/virgin-media-tv-customers-with-netflix-to-get-single-billing.html","title":{"rendered":"Virgin Media TV Customers Who Take Netflix to Get Single Billing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Customers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vm\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Virgin Media<\/a>&#8217;s cable based TV and broadband ISP bundles in the UK, specifically those who don&#8217;t yet have Netflix, will from October 2018 be able to instantly add and pay for Netflix&#8217;s popular internet video streaming service through their VM bill.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The development represents an expansion of the operator&#8217;s existing partnership with Netflix, which is already fully integrated into Virgin TV&#8217;s content discovery experiences, like &#8220;<em>Smart Search<\/em>&#8221; (i.e. this means customers can easily find and save their favourite Netflix media).<\/p>\n<p>On top of that Virgin TV customers with the latest <strong>V6<\/strong> box, a Netflix Premium account and a compatible TV also have the option to watch the streaming giant\u2019s programming in <strong>4K<\/strong> Ultra High Definition (UHD) and <strong>High Dynamic Range<\/strong> (HDR) quality. This follows a recent software update to the set-top-box.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Jeff Dodds, VM&#8217;s MD of Consumer and Mobile, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Virgin TV has always been about giving our customers the TV they love all in one place. We were the first to embrace this open philosophy by embedding Netflix into our platform back in 2013 and it\u2019s clearly something that our customers absolutely love. By expanding our relationship further we\u2019re forming an even deeper relationship with our friends at Netflix and giving our customers a simpler way to pay for the service<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paolo Pescatore, VP of Multiplay and Media at CCS, added: &#8220;<em>Consumers are spoilt with choice due to the rise of online video services. However, this is leading to huge fragmentation resulting in users forced to sign up to numerous services. However, in reality consumers do not want to sign up to numerous services, receive more bills and be forced to open several apps to find the content they want.
