Customers of BT<\/a>’s pay TV platform in the United Kingdom should note that the broadband ISP\u2019s related Smartphone app has just announced several new features, including the ability to download and access content on the go and multi-device support via ‘BT<\/a> TV App Extra<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

The new download features means that users can now purchase TV shows directly through their YouView<\/a> (IPTV) based set-top-box or BT<\/a> Player and then use the app to access all their BT TV purchases, rentals and subscriptions in one place. Customers will be able to download and play films and box sets purchased or rented from the BT TV Store on any device through the BT TV app when out and about, as well as at home.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the BT TV App Extra feature allows customers to play their favourite content on up to 4 registered devices around the home through Samsung Smart TVs, Apple TV, Google Chromecast and Amazon<\/a> Fire TV is also coming soon. Existing users of the BT TV app will receive the new feature via an update on their device, although BT TV App Extra costs \u00a35 extra to optionally add on a monthly rolling contract (some platforms offer something similar as part of the standard pricing).<\/p>\n
