{"id":17664,"date":"2018-12-18T07:32:56","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T07:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=17664"},"modified":"2018-12-18T07:32:56","modified_gmt":"2018-12-18T07:32:56","slug":"cityfibre-hail-largest-1-12bn-debt-financing-for-uk-full-fibre-rollout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2018\/12\/cityfibre-hail-largest-1-12bn-debt-financing-for-uk-full-fibre-rollout.html","title":{"rendered":"Cityfibre Hail Largest \u00a31.12bn Debt Financing for UK Full Fibre Rollout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">Cityfibre<\/a> has today confirmed that they\u2019ve put in place a new debt financing package worth \u00a31.12bn, which will support their wider \u00a32.5bn roll-out (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2018\/10\/cityfibre-get-2-5bn-to-build-ftth-broadband-to-5-million-uk-homes.html\">details<\/a>) of a new 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) broadband ISP network to cover 5 million premises across 37 UK cities and towns by the end of 2024.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The deployment project, which is being supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a>, officially started last year with a funding pot of \u00a3500m (Phase One) and this was recently increased to \u00a32.5bn. At the time the operator noted that this investment would reflect a combination of debt and equity, although the exact details were not revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Today <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/cityfibre\" target=\"_blank\">Cityfibre<\/a> has followed this up by announcing that they&#8217;ve put in place a debt package of \u00a31.12 billion from seven major financial institutions, including ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Bank plc, Natixis, NatWest, Santander and Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale. The operator claims that this is the &#8220;<em>largest debt financing package dedicated to full fibre rollouts in the UK\u2019s history<\/em>&#8221; and will support their initial roll-out to 2 million premises.<\/p>\n<p>The package includes a \u00a3775 million seven-year capex facility and \u00a345 million revolving overdraft and working-capital facility. It also includes a \u00a3300 million accordion facility.
