Thousands of additional homes in Surrey and West Sussex (England) look set to benefit after UK ISP Box Broadband<\/a> confirmed that they had secured significant new investment from high net worth individuals, which will enable them to expand their unlimited 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) network.<\/p>\n

The specifics of Box’s new funding are unclear, although we understand that the raise reflects a seven figure sum from those who originally supported the ISP through its first round of funding and they are also keen to support the provider’s continued growth going forward.<\/p>\n

So far Box has already started connecting homes and businesses in Ewhurst, Walliswood and Ellen’s Green via their demand-led approach and they recently confirmed that homes in the large rural village of Cranleigh would be the next to benefit (here<\/a>). At the time the provider said that it had an aim to cover more than 100,000 homes within the next 4 years (i.e. by 2023).<\/p>\n

The CEO of Box Broadband, Graham Sargood<\/strong>, has confirmed to ISPreview.co.uk that the new funding should help them to bring their “full fibre<\/em>” network to approximately 10,000 homes in the two counties over the next 12 months and they now hope to cover a total of 160,000 homes<\/strong> over the next four years (they say it might even be possible to do 200,000 with the right support).<\/p>\n

Graham Sargood said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Leading rural ISP Box Broadband has today announced that it has successfully completed another round of funding allowing it to rapidly expand its full fibre network build across Surrey and West Sussex connecting Residential and Business customers to its Gigabit internet and Telephone services.<\/p>\n

Further funding will be required over the next few years as it continues its plans to build the network to 200,000 homes over the next 4 years.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Customers of the symmetric speed service can expect to receive unlimited usage, an 18 month minimum contract term, included wireless router and installation costs start from around \u00a3149.99.
