{"id":20495,"date":"2019-12-18T09:32:04","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T09:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=20495"},"modified":"2019-12-18T09:32:04","modified_gmt":"2019-12-18T09:32:04","slug":"ees-ultrafast-5g-mobile-network-goes-live-in-6-new-uk-cities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2019\/12\/ees-ultrafast-5g-mobile-network-goes-live-in-6-new-uk-cities.html","title":{"rendered":"EE&#8217;s Ultrafast 5G Mobile Network Goes Live in 6 New UK Cities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">EE<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a>) has today announced that their new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/5g\">5G<\/a> ultrafast mobile broadband network, which began its rollout across the United Kingdom in May 2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2019\/05\/mobile-operator-ee-set-uk-live-date-for-commercial-5g-network.html\">here<\/a>), has today switched-on a further six cities including Hull, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Sunderland.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As well as covering extra cities, the mobile giant has also extended <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/5g\">5G<\/a> to more high footfall places, including London Euston Station, Cardiff Central station, Glasgow&#8217;s Bath Street and Belfast&#8217;s Kingspan Stadium. Overall today&#8217;s announcement means that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">EE<\/a>&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/5g\">5G<\/a> network is now live in 50 cities and towns, which surpasses their original ambition of reaching 16 UK cities in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward the operator has said that their next aim is to have 5G live in more than 70 cities and large towns by March 2020.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Marc Allera, CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a>&#8217;s Consumer Division, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We switched on the UK\u2019s first 5G network in May, and this is another milestone towards keeping our customers connected 100% of the time. We\u2019re leading the way in the UK, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/4g\">4G<\/a> and 5G coverage in more places than any other operator.
