Initially nothing is expected to change for SSE&#8217;s customers, although over time there may be more differences.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Just to recap. Ovo has acquired SSE&#8217;s GB household energy and broadband business for \u00a3500 million, comprising \u00a3400 million in cash and \u00a3100 million in loan notes (the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssetelecoms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSE Enterprise Telecoms<\/a> business is separate). Together, the companies serve almost 5 million households across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ovo, SSE&#8217;s business is now owned by them, although customer payments and tariffs won&#8217;t change. Likewise broadband customers will continue to be supplied by SSE, at least for now. &#8220;<em>SSE customers don\u2019t need to do anything, but if they have any questions, they can head to <a href=\"https:\/\/sse.co.uk\/sse-and-ovo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SSE\u2019s FAQs here<\/a><\/em>,&#8221; said Ovo. On the flip side &#8220;<em>absolutely nothing changes<\/em>&#8221; for Ovo&#8217;s existing customers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Stephen Fitzpatrick, CEO and Founder of OVO, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today is an exciting day. It marks the end of one chapter for OVO but, more importantly, the beginning of the next one together with SSE Energy Services. We started OVO with a bold ambition to do better for customers and have stayed true to that vision ever since.<\/p>\n<p>We have an integration plan that leaders from both companies have collaborated on since September.
