Customers of UK ISP Sky Broadband<\/a> (inc. Sky Talk), Sky Mobile<\/a> and Sky TV are set to be given a number of free extras in order to help them through the current period of self-isolation, which is gradually being implemented across the United Kingdom in order to help tackle the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).<\/p>\n

The additional extras are on top of this morning’s announcement, which will see Universal Pictures<\/a> (NBCUniversal) and Sky UK work to release new movies online (via Sky Store<\/strong>) at the same time as they become available in the cinema (here<\/a>). From Friday people will be able to pay \u00a315.99 for a 48-hour rental<\/strong> on a number of new releases.<\/p>\n

Stephen van Rooyen, EVP & CEO of Sky UK and Europe, said: “We\u2019re working hard at Sky to make sure we continue to look after our customers. We\u2019re also introducing some things to help make life a little easier for anyone at home trying to work, stay connected to loved ones, or keep the family entertained<\/em>.” The other changes are as follows:<\/p>\n

Sky’s Free Extras Include<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Sky Go Extra will be available to all customers for free, so busy homes will have access to Sky TV on three screens at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Calls to UK landlines at any time of day will be free for existing Sky Talk customers from this weekend to the end of April.<\/p>\n

\u2022 All Sky Mobile<\/a> customers will get a 10GB data boost into their Piggybanks, free of charge. This can be shared across all the SIMs on the account.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Call centres and engineers will prioritise the needs of existing customers to ensure their service keeps running smoothly.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The Broadband, Talk and Mobile networks have been designed to handle high traffic peaks at all times of the day and night, and Sky\u2019s network engineers are working hard to ensure they are tested, monitored and improved 24\/7.<\/p>\n

\u2022 YouTube kids and Disney+ will be coming to Sky Q in the coming weeks, to give families even more entertainment choices.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
