In reality we&#8217;re not entirely sure what he did that was so special, other than to add a bit of celebrity promotion.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Lord Sugar said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>When I joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/youview\" target=\"_blank\">YouView<\/a> in 2011, my brief from the shareholders was to use my experience in the electronics industry to get the product to market and into the homes of consumers. Having done that successfully, my job is complete and I will now focus my time and attention into my other businesses.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;d like to thank all those who are part of the YouView project, including its suppliers, staff and shareholders and I wish them every success for the future<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lord Sugar originally replaced <strong>Kip Meek<\/strong> in the role, whom hailed from a similarly colourful career path after having held a variety of positions in the telecoms market including his much criticised role on the board of Phorm UK.
