{"id":2979,"date":"2013-03-28T09:46:14","date_gmt":"2013-03-28T09:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=2979"},"modified":"2013-03-28T10:04:26","modified_gmt":"2013-03-28T10:04:26","slug":"ofcom-uk-labels-ee-as-home-broadband-isp-with-most-complaints","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2013\/03\/ofcom-uk-labels-ee-as-home-broadband-isp-with-most-complaints.html","title":{"rendered":"Ofcom Labels EE as UK Home Broadband ISP with Most Complaints"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"shortlink shortlink-133 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ofcom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"ofcom\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ofcom.org.uk\">Ofcom<\/a> has today published its latest quarterly <strong>customer complaints report<\/strong> for Q4-2012, which saw complaints against Orange UK&#8217;s (<a class=\"shortlink shortlink-43\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"ee home broadband\">EE<\/a>) fixed line Home Broadband service skyrocket to be double the level of any other ISP.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The study, which only looked at telecoms firms with a market share of greater than 4%, reported that <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-43\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"ee home broadband\">EE<\/a> received an average of <strong>0.70 complaints per 1000 customers<\/strong> for their fixed line broadband service in Q4-2012 (up from an already bad score of 0.50 in Q3-2012). The problems can most likely be attributed to last years ending of their &#8220;<em>free broadband for life<\/em>&#8221; offer (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2012\/10\/orange-uk-scraps-free-broadband-for-life-deal-for-mobile-users.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" alt=\"fixed line uk broadband isp complaints q4 2012\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/wp-content\/gallery\/2013-internet-statistics\/fixed_line_uk_broadband_isp_complaints_q4_2012.gif\" \/><\/div>\n<p>By comparison nearly every other ISP experienced a welcome decline in complaint levels and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-86\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/bskyb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Sky Broadband\">Sky Broadband<\/a> deserves praise for having the lowest complaint level of all the major fixed line internet providers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Claudio Pollack, Director of Ofcoms Consumer Group, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>It\u2019s encouraging to see a continuing decline in the total volume of complaints, and we hope these figures will incentivise providers to further improve their performance. We\u2019re committed to providing consumers with valuable information to help them choose a provider that best suits their needs<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The study also looked at complaints against landline telephone providers, mobile operators and Pay TV providers. Sadly <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-59\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"talktalk\">TalkTalk<\/a> continued to generate the most complaints for landline telephone providers (0.36 complaints per 1,000 customers), which is around double the level experienced by everybody else, but they have improved.. slightly.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"ngg-singlepic ngg-none\" alt=\"fixed_line_telephone_uk_complaints_q4_2012\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/wp-content\/gallery\/2013-internet-statistics\/fixed_line_telephone_uk_complaints_q4_2012.gif\" \/><\/div>\n<p>The results for mobile and pay tv operators can be found below.
