{"id":29902,"date":"2022-01-27T08:15:47","date_gmt":"2022-01-27T08:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=29902"},"modified":"2022-01-27T15:22:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-27T15:22:14","slug":"wightfibre-named-first-uk-isp-to-win-key-customer-service-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/01\/wightfibre-named-first-uk-isp-to-win-key-customer-service-award.html","title":{"rendered":"WightFibre Named First UK ISP to Win Key Customer Service Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Internet provider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/wightfibre\">WightFibre<\/a>, which is currently rolling out a new gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) network across the Isle of Wight (South Coast of Hampshire), appears to have become the first broadband ISP in the UK to secure the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instituteofcustomerservice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Customer Service<\/a>&#8216;s (ICS) ServiceMark with Distinction Accreditation.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The accolade, which is said to reflect an independent and national benchmark of an organisation&#8217;s achievement in customer service and its commitment to upholding those standards, is the highest level of accreditation awarded by the ICS and is currently held by just 16 organisations in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Infracapital is currently backing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/wightfibre\">WightFibre<\/a>&#8217;s \u00a385m fibre rollout.<\/div>\n<p>The award followed a survey of 500 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/wightfibre\">WightFibre<\/a> customers, as well as interviews with most of its staff, which enabled the ICS to score the company&#8217;s approach to customer service and to compare this with the UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI). The ISP achieved a very high score of 89% overall, which compares to an average of 74% for telecom companies and 75% for all companies in the UK index.<\/p>\n<p>The latest biannual UKCSI report also came out this week, although it&#8217;s worth noting that the only telecoms organisations to make the &#8220;<em>national<\/em>&#8221; top 50 table (WightFibre isn&#8217;t included in this as they&#8217;re limited to the Isle of Wight) were mobile operators &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tescomobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Tesco Mobile<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/skymobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Sky Mobile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/giffgaffmobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">giffgaff<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/01\/tesco-mobile-sky-mobile-and-giffgaff-top-for-uk-customer-satisfaction.html\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am extremely proud of the team at WightFibre for achieving the ServiceMark with Distinction and making us the first broadband company in the UK to be awarded this accolade. Toward the end of last year we reported that WightFibre&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a> rollout had already covered over 30,000 premises and their goal is to reach around 70,000 by the end of 2025, which is close to universal coverage of the island.
