Netomnia<\/a> has just confirmed that they’ll invest \u00a315m to deploy their 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) broadband network to cover 51,000 premises in the Kent (England) town of Gravesend, which will be built by the operator’s civil engineering partner KN Circet<\/del> GNS Communications.<\/p>\n

The operator, which last year secured \u00a3123 million<\/strong> of funding (here<\/a>) and has so far covered over 90,000 UK premises<\/strong> in various towns, ultimately aims to reach 1 million UK homes and businesses by the end of 2023, which remains very ambitious for such a timescale.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Local homes can sign-up to the service via partner ISP YouFibre<\/a>, which charges from \u00a322 per month for an unlimited 50Mbps package and up to \u00a340 if you want their top 900Mbps plan.<\/div>\n

A quick look at Gravesend<\/strong> shows that Netomnia<\/a> is starting work near the Whitehill Primary School and Nursery in the south of the town, as well as nearer to the River Thames side. But the operator will face some gigabit-capable broadband rivals in the area. For example, Virgin Media<\/a>’s network already covers most of the local premises and Openreach<\/a> recently added Gravesend to their own FTTP<\/a> deployment plan. On top of that, there are some much smaller deployments from Hyperoptic<\/a> and OFNL present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
