Overall the four primary operators &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/o2uk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">O2<\/a> (VMO2), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">EE<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a> &#8211; were &#8220;<em>outperformed<\/em>&#8221; by smaller virtual networks, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/smarty\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Smarty<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/giffgaffmobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Giffgaff<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tescomobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Tesco Mobile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/skymobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Sky Mobile<\/a> etc.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The survey itself, which was conducted online by Deltapoll during January and February 2022, questioned 3,305 UK mobile customers (data weighted to be representative of mobile phone network customers aged 18+). The caveat of this is that the scores for some operators &#8211; the smallest <strong>Mobile Virtual Network Operator<\/strong> (MVNO) providers &#8211; will be based on a fairly small sample size, so bear that in mind.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ofcom\" target=\"_blank\">Ofcom<\/a> states that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/o2uk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">O2<\/a> (VMO2), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">EE<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">BT<\/a>), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vodafoneuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Vodafone<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a> &#8211; combined &#8211; serve 76% of customers in the UK.<\/div>\n<p>A total of 16 mobile operators were ranked by Which? and not one of the four major providers appeared in the top half of that table, which was topped by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/smarty\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Smarty<\/a>. The highest scoring of the big four, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/o2uk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">O2<\/a>, still only managed joint 8th place and just 20% of their customers rated them as being excellent value for money. By comparison, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/threeuk\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Three UK<\/a> scored the lowest of the big four (13th), due to poor results for network reliability, technical support and incentives offered (e.g. 45% of Three users experienced problems in the past year).<\/p>\n<p>However, not all virtual operators did better than the primary players, with Talk Mobile being relegated to the bottom of the table due to poor ratings for customer service and reliability. Likewise, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/asdamobile\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">ASDA<\/a> Mobile found itself only one place above Talk Mobile, for similar reasons. Sadly, we don&#8217;t get a detailed breakdown of the results from Which?
