Scottish broadband ISP GoFibre<\/a> (BorderLink<\/a>), which is partnered with wireless provider Marykirk.com<\/a> (here<\/a>), has today added two new locations in Fife to their ongoing rollout of a new 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) network in Scotland.<\/p>\n

Founded by CEO, Alex Cacciamani in his hometown of Duns, GoFibre<\/a> was originally created out of the need to solve Alex’s own broadband problems at home. After moving to the Scottish Borders in 2017 with his wife and three kids, he realised quickly there was a need for faster broadband in these rural areas and set about solving the issue for himself.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> The provider recently secured an investment of \u00a3164m<\/strong> to build FTTP<\/a> across 500,000 premises in the North of England and Borders over the next 3-years (here<\/a>).<\/div>\n

GoFibre<\/a> started building their new full fibre network last year and at the time they expected to cover 10,000 premises in the Angus and South Aberdeenshire areas, with thousands more premises in Montrose, Kelso and Coldstream also forming part of their initial deployment. More recently they’ve also added 12,000 premises across the East Lothian towns of Haddington, Dunbar and North Berwick to their plan (here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The operator has already gone live in many of their existing build areas, and they’ve today added two new locations in Fife to their plans – including Burntisland<\/strong> and Cardenden<\/strong> (this reflects about 8,000 local households and businesses).<\/p>\n

Customers of the new service tend to pay from \u00a336 per month for a 100Mbps package on a 24-month term with an included wireless router, which rises to \u00a369 per month for their top 1000Mbps plan.
