The Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA<\/a> UK), which is the national trade body for broadband and internet providers, has today had a key change in its leadership, which sees Steve Leighton (CEO of Voneus<\/a>) taking over the reins from Andrew Glover (CEO of Air Broadband) to become the organisation’s new Chair.<\/p>\n

Andrew will hand over after more than five years as Chair. As for Steve, he has been CEO of Voneus<\/a> for more than a decade and is a serial entrepreneur who has set up and been part of the management team of other ISPs and tech businesses over the past twenty years. On top of that, Steve has also worked in the government as the former Head of Communications Sponsorship at the (formerly named) Department of Trade and Industry.<\/p>\n

Steve was appointed Chair of the ISPA<\/a> Council, which is a management committee elected from the membership, following a vote by members of that same council.<\/p>\n

Steve Leighton said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“It\u2019s an absolute privilege to be appointed Chair of ISPA<\/a> at a key moment for the sector. ISPA members are transforming the UK\u2019s connectivity, with fibre networks being deployed at speed as customers rely on their broadband for so many aspects of their day-to-day lives. ISPA will continue to support members to set the agenda, engage with policymakers, bring industry together for events and make a difference to members. We will continue to push for the best possible conditions for our sector to continue the roll-out of gigabit services across the UK. I can\u2019t wait to get started!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The ISPA also thanked Andrew for his dedication and leadership to the industry over the past five years, while Andrew himself said he is “delighted to pass the organization on in good health, with an excellent council and support team.
