UK ISP Box Broadband<\/a>, which was acquired last year by CommunityFibre<\/a> (here<\/a>) and is rolling out a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) network across parts of South England (e.g. Surrey and Sussex), has extended their rollout goal to 250,000 premises and signed Lanes Infrastructure to help build the network.<\/p>\n

Just to recap. Box’s previously announced plan, post-acquisition by CommunityFibre<\/a>, was to accelerate the rollout of their network to reach 200,000 homes<\/strong> across the South of England by 2024. But today’s announcement appears to raise that target by expressing a “goal of delivering fibre to in excess of 250,000 homes by the end of 2024<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

The new partnership build with Lanes-i<\/strong> will benefit tens of thousands of homes per year, across both urban and rural areas. The project will also create new job opportunities, due to the need for additional engineers. But we suspect the ISP will also end up working with other contractors too.<\/p>\n

Graham Sargood, CEO of Box Broadband, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lanes-i has grown rapidly over the last 3 years, working with a few key Telco\u2019s implementing full fibre infrastructures over the next 10 years across the UK.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The provider is currently offering residential packages with symmetric speeds of 100Mbps for \u00a324.95 per month on a 24-month term (currently discounted to \u00a317.95), which rises to \u00a344.95 for their 1Gbps tier.
