Broadband ISP toob<\/a><\/a> has today announced that they’ve added the Hampshire (England) town and district of Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent, respectively, to their rollout plan for a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) network, which is expected to cost them around \u00a318m and cover 45,000 premises.<\/p>\n

The provider, which is supported by an investment of \u00a3162.5m<\/strong> from the Amber Infrastructure Group and the Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund, currently aims to cover 1 million premises across the South of England by 2027 (e.g. Surrey and Hampshire). Most of their builds can be found in cities and towns like Southampton, Aldershot, Fareham, Eastleigh, Chandler\u2019s Ford, Camberley, Ash, Farnborough, Yateley, Blackwater and Woking etc.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Toob<\/a><\/a>\u2019s network is using ADTRAN\u2019s (TA5000<\/strong><\/a>) full fibre kit.<\/div>\n

Customers of the provider typically pay just \u00a325 per month for the first 18-months of service (\u00a329 thereafter) to get an unlimited 900Mbps (symmetric) broadband package with an included wireless router, which comes with free installation.<\/p>\n

Nick Parbutt, CEO and Founder said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I am delighted to announce that we are bringing full-fibre broadband to Gosport and Lee-on-the-Solent. There is a need for fast and reliable broadband and full-fibre is the best technology to deliver this experience.<\/p>\n

At toob we want all members of the local community to get the benefit of full-fibre, so we provide all our customers with 900Mbps. This allows our customers to surf, stream, game and work \u2013 all at the same time \u2013 without the worry of slowing down at peak times or the signal dropping out at a critical moment. We offer this service for \u00a325 per month on an 18 month contract to make these benefits available to everyone, not just the few.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As usual, it’s important to point out that both locations are already well covered by Virgin Media<\/a>’s gigabit-capable broadband network, and Openreach<\/a> also have plans to expand the reach of their FTTP<\/a> network in the same area.
