As a result, M100 is being renamed to M125 and M200 becomes M250.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Regular readers will know that we&#8217;ve been expecting today&#8217;s announcement for a while (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/08\/virgin-media-o2-uk-lays-groundwork-for-faster-upload-speeds.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/10\/isp-virgin-media-o2-uk-to-boost-some-home-broadband-speeds.html\">here<\/a>), but until now we didn&#8217;t have any confirmation of the changes that would be introduced. Previously, anybody who took the <strong>M100<\/strong> plan could have expected average speeds of 108Mbps down and 10Mbps up, while those taking <strong>M200<\/strong> were told to expect speeds of 213Mbps down and 20Mbps up.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> The change will apply across all of their associated plans, including TV bundles.<\/div>\n<p>The revised <strong>M125<\/strong> plan will now come alongside &#8216;<em>advertised<\/em>&#8216; download speeds of 132Mbps and uploads of 20Mbps, while <strong>M250<\/strong> will deliver downloads of 264Mbps and 25Mbps (as usual, the maximum potential profile speed of these tiers will be higher than the advertised rate). But we&#8217;ve also had it confirmed that there will be no changes for residential customers on the faster tiers, at least not today.<\/p>\n<p>We should add that some customers of <a class=\"noshortlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.virginmediabusiness.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virgin Media Business<\/a>, specifically those on their <strong>Voom Gig1<\/strong> (1Gbps) plan, have also seen their upload speeds boosted (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/10\/virgin-media-business-uk-customers-start-seeing-faster-uploads.html\">here<\/a>) to around 75-100Mbps (previously 50Mbps). But at the time of writing, the operator hasn&#8217;t yet confirmed whether this is just a selected trial or if it is being rolled out to all of their related customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE 9:33am<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>VMO2 has just confirmed that they&#8217;ll also be boosting upload speeds for small business customers from &#8220;<em>early<\/em>&#8221; 2023, which specifically relates to those on their Voom 600, 800 and 1 Gig service tiers.
