{"id":34236,"date":"2023-04-19T10:13:18","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T09:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=34236"},"modified":"2023-04-19T10:13:18","modified_gmt":"2023-04-19T09:13:18","slug":"connexin-launch-smarthome-app-to-boost-broadband-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/04\/connexin-launch-smarthome-app-to-boost-broadband-experience.html","title":{"rendered":"Connexin Launch SmartHome App to &#8220;boost broadband experience&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Network operator and UK ISP <a href=\"https:\/\/www.connexin.co.uk\/fibre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Connexin<\/a>, which is investing \u00a380m from <span class=\"ContentPasted1\">Whitehelm Capital<span class=\"x_apple-converted-space ContentPasted1\">&nbsp;<\/span>(PATRIZIA)<\/span> to roll out a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (<a class=\"shortlink shortlink-110 shortlink-chref\" title=\"fttp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_fibre_optic.php\">FTTP<\/a>) broadband network across parts of Hull and Yorkshire (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2021\/12\/connexin-start-rollout-of-10gbps-broadband-network-in-hull-uk.html\">here<\/a>), has today launched a new SmartHome app for all new customers (it can be downloaded immediately after installation).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The application is said to be &#8220;<em>packed with features to enhance the homeowners\u2019 broadband experience<\/em>&#8220;, although its main focus seems to be on giving users the ability to manage their Wi-Fi network with ease and acting as a remote control for their router (other broadband ISPs have similar Apps). Users can set up guest networks, change passwords, view connected devices and maximise security via the app. <\/p>\n<p>One of the App&#8217;s key features, <strong>ProtectIQ<\/strong> &#8211; included free as standard with all <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/connexin\" target=\"_blank\">Connexin<\/a> Fibre packages &#8211; gives customers safety and security of their home network with 24\/7 network protection. By protecting against viruses, malware and intrusions, the app can send alerts should there be any attempts to compromise the user\u2019s network. <\/p>\n<p>On top of that there&#8217;s the <strong>ExperienceIQ<\/strong> feature, which enables app users to leverage parental control and safety features to improve network security. Users can easily prioritise bandwidth, set time restrictions, monitor network activity and block websites to individual devices or users. But ExperienceIQ will cost \u00a32 per month extra, or free for customers on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/connexin\" target=\"_blank\">Connexin<\/a>&#8217;s top 1Gbps packages.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>Alex Yeung, Co-Founder &#038; Deputy CEO at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/connexin\" target=\"_blank\">Connexin<\/a>, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In this day and age broadband is no longer a luxury, it\u2019s essential.
