The UK telecoms regulator, Ofcom<\/a>, has today joined forces with BT<\/a>, Sky Broadband<\/a>, TalkTalk<\/a>, Openreach<\/a>, Three UK<\/a>, Virgin Media<\/a> O2<\/a> and Vodafone<\/a> to agree a new pledge that commits them all to help get more women into senior technology positions – across a historically male-dominated sector.<\/p>\n

Each of the organisations has agreed to take action to increase senior representation of women in technology-based roles over the next 3 years, as well as have more women in their workforces more generally.<\/p>\n

The organisations will also focus on both attracting and retaining more women, while creating more inclusive working environments. They will come together to share good practice, as well as publishing information on the impact of their work to achieve better representation for women \u2013 including performance against their organisation\u2019s own diversity and inclusion strategies.<\/p>\n

Summary of the Pledges<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u27a4 We are committed to increasing the senior representation of women in technology-based roles in the telecoms sector over the next three years; and to increase the overall representation of women in our sector.<\/p>\n

\u27a4 We will invest our efforts in attracting and retaining women in our organisations, creating inclusive environments for them to excel and be their best.<\/p>\n

\u27a4 As an industry we will come together annually to share good practice and showcase, to the outside world, our talented women in technology in the telecoms sector.<\/p>\n

\u27a4 We will publish information on the impact our initiatives have made on our collective ambitions as well as against the diversity and inclusion strategies of our respective organisations.
