UK ISP Home Telecom<\/a>, which is a subsidiary of the wider Telecom Acquisitions<\/a> (TAL) group (TalkTalk<\/a> holds a controlling stake in them), has today announced two further interesting acquisitions by welcoming customers from local operators Bloomtel<\/a> and OpenFibre<\/a> to the business – all for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n

Open Fibre is currently focused on serving customers with FTTP<\/a> broadband packages in the Hull, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regions via MS3<\/a>’s new network. By comparison, Hertforshire-based Bloomtel is a distinctly less familiar provider and one with a fairly vague website that doesn’t help us much to figure out their services.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> TAL \/ Home Telecom’s other brands include Fleur Telecom, Eclipse Broadband, Weekly Broadband and Hive Telecom, and now Bloomtel and OpenFibre.<\/div>\n

As usual no financial details of the transaction were released, but the announcement does reveal that Home Telecom have ambitious growth plan targets of circa \u00a338m servicing 100,000 properties “in the near future<\/em>“.<\/p>\n

Nigel Barnett, CEO of Home Telecom, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Home Telecom has a huge opportunity for growth in the coming months, the marketplace has not appreciated that BT<\/a> have put a stop sell on all analogue copper lines, meaning all households that have a standard telephone which may or may not support broadband is no longer available.<\/p>\n

Hence when occupancy changes or tenants want to upgrade their service a totally new connection has to be connected to the property. This, plus the return of the energy market and the introduction of fibre to the premises [FTTP<\/a>] means we can reward agents with a significant additional income again. Exciting times ahead.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
