Infracapital-backed broadband ISP Fibrus<\/a>, which is building a 10Gbps capable full fibre (FTTP<\/a>) network across Northern Ireland and North England, has today expanded their collaboration with Amazon<\/a>’s eero mesh WiFi<\/a> devices by “[offering] customers eero Built-in capable routers<\/em>” at no extra cost and a FREE echo dot (5th gen).<\/p>\n

The press release is slightly confusing as Fibrus<\/a> has been offering their broadband packages alongside eero’s devices for some months (here<\/a>), although this did initially only apply to their top two 300Mbps and 1Gbps packages. The new offer, which runs until 5th November, also includes a FREE echo dot (5th gen), allowing customers to increase their eero coverage with their Echo device.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Fibrus<\/a> has attracted over \u00a3750m of committed capital, including \u00a3235m from investors, \u00a3220m from a banking consortium and the rest as public subsidy (e.g. \u00a3197m Project Stratum<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 85,000 premises by March 2025 in N.Ireland \u2013 and the \u00a3108m Project Gigabit contract for 60,000 premises in Cumbria, England \u2013 Hyperfast GB<\/strong><\/a>).<\/div>\n

Otherwise, the operator’s FTTP<\/a> network now covers 300,000 premises (273,000 RFS) and is home to 50,000 customers. But Fibrus<\/a> aims to cover 1 million premises over the next 3 years (by Q1 2026) \u2013 reflecting around 450,000 in N.Ireland (c. 50% of homes in the region) and the rest from England and Scotland. A total of 400,000 UK premises are currently expected to be covered by March 2024 (i.e. 150,000 in a single year).<\/p>\n

Customers of Fibrus typically pay from \u00a324.99 per month for an unlimited 146Mbps (30Mbps upload) package with an included eero 6+ or eero Pro 6E router and free installation, which rises to \u00a344.99 per month for their top 946Mbps (300Mbps upload) tier on a 24-month contract term. Service discounts may vary between different parts of their build.<\/p>\n
