Mobile operator Sky Mobile<\/a> has today announced that their 4G<\/a> and 5G<\/a> mobile services are being extended into many parts of the London Underground, which most likely reflects an expected extension of their existing Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) agreement with O2<\/a> (VMO2).<\/p>\n

At present all of the market’s primary mobile network operators – including O2<\/a> (Virgin Media<\/a>), EE<\/a> (BT<\/a>), Vodafone<\/a> and Three UK<\/a> – are already in the process of expanding their coverage across the London Underground (i.e. ticket halls, platforms and train tunnels) by harnessing Boldyn Networks’ new infrastructure at wholesale.<\/p>\n

The good news is that Sky Mobile<\/a> have become one of the first MVNO providers to confirm that their customers will also be able to benefit. As a result, passengers can now text, call, browse the web (mobile broadband), listen to music or stream whilst on the Tube, making journeys around the city a smoother, more connected experience.<\/p>\n
