Mobile operator and ISP Vodafone<\/a> UK has just released their Q3 FY24 financial results, which saw their fixed line broadband base grow to total 1.331 million customers (up by 39k in Q3 vs 27k in the Q2), while their mobile customers grew to 18.572 million (up by 330k in Q3 vs 218k in Q2).<\/p>\n

In terms of their UK fixed broadband services, the operator has continued to report strong growth with a quarterly addition of 39,000 customers – thanks in part to being widely available across both Openreach<\/a>’s and CityFibre<\/a>’s national networks. The provider’s full fibre FTTP<\/a> network coverage can now reach a combined total of 14.5 million UK households (up from 13.2m in Q2).<\/p>\n

As for their mobile base, Vodafone<\/a> reported a quarterly jump of 18,000 in Pay Monthly customers (up from 17,000 last quarter) and a rise of 312,000 in Prepaid \/ PAYG customers (down from 380k last quarter). The eagle-eyed may note that the total mobile base change (330k in Q3 vs 218k in Q2) may not quite line up with this, which is because the operator went through somewhat of a “base clean up<\/em>” in the last quarter to correct their figures.<\/p>\n

In addition, quarterly mobile broadband (data) usage across their UK network increased slightly to 461,048 TeraBytes<\/strong> (up from 457,580 TB last quarter).<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> The Data usage figure above represents the sum of downlink and uplink traffic, all APNs (e.g. web, wap, corporate APNs, MMS), femto traffic (if applicable), inbound roamers and MVNOs – excluding data resulting from voice over LTE traffic.<\/div>\n

Margherita Della Valle, Vodafone<\/a> Group CEO, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We maintained good service revenue momentum in the third quarter across both Europe and Africa, supported by a further acceleration of Vodafone Business, with our Cloud and Internet of Things services growing over 20%.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve made good strategic progress in the first nine months of the year, with improving customer satisfaction and three consecutive quarters of service revenue growth in Europe. Our announced transactions in the UK and Spain are progressing well, and we are in active discussions in Italy. We\u2019ve also begun strategic partnerships with Microsoft and Accenture to fast-track our transformation.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
