Network operator and UK ISP Connect Fibre<\/a>, which aims to cover 100,000 premises across the East of England with their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) broadband network, has announced that they’re responding to recent price hikes from rival providers by opting to keep their prices frozen for a second year.<\/p>\n

The operator, which is backed by an unspecified amount of funding from the Foresight Group<\/strong> (here<\/a>), is currently rolling out their new open access (wholesale) full fibre network \u2013 using ADTRAN’s XGS-PON technology \u2013 across various locations in Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Essex, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Connect Fibre<\/a> recently won the \u00a333m (state aid) Project Gigabit contract to cover 17,000+ premises in hard to reach rural areas of Derbyshire (LOT 3) – here<\/a>.<\/div>\n

The good news today is that customers of their service will continue to pay the same as they did last year, thanks to the continuation of the current price freeze (a lot of smaller providers are doing something similar). As well as the price freeze, a \u00a35 monthly discount is also being offered on their entry-level 150Mbps Boost package – equating to a saving of \u00a390 over the contract duration (this discount is running until April 1st).<\/p>\n

Residential broadband packages now start from \u00a325 per month on an 18-month term for a symmetric speed of 150Mbps (inc. free setup and a WiFi<\/a> 6 router), which rises to \u00a350 for their top 1000Mbps tier and a promise of \u201cno mid-contract price increases<\/em>\u201c.<\/p>\n

Connect Fibre<\/a>\u2019s Chief Customer Officer, Deryck Shepherd, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

We feel just as strongly about our existing customers not being penalised for their loyalty, and always ensure that they’re offered the same discounts at the end of their contract as our new customers receive.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
