Abingdon-based ISP Gigaclear<\/a>, which specialises in deploying their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP<\/a>) broadband network into rural parts England, has today announced that their network now covers 500,000 premises (ready for service) and they’ve also grown their customer base to 100,000 (up from 95k on 22nd Feb 2024).<\/p>\n

The internet provider is principally owned by major investor Infracapital<\/strong>, together with Equitix and Railpen. The company previously had investment commitments estimated to be worth up to around \u00a31.1bn (here<\/a>), but at the end of last year they also secured a new \u00a31.5bn debt facility (here<\/a>) and recently won the \u00a316.6m Project Gigabit rollout contract for East Gloucestershire (here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Gigaclear<\/a> holds an ambition to cover \u201cover<\/em>\u201d 1 million premises with their full fibre network by 2027 and they now employ more than 750 people across six office locations. Infracapital also owns or has stakes in WightFibre<\/a>, Neos Networks<\/a>, Fibrus<\/a> and Ogi<\/a>.<\/div>\n

The figures serve to underline the significant growth Gigaclear<\/a> has undergone during the past three-and-a-half years, having begun 2021 with 36,000 customers and 140,000 homes and businesses able to connect.<\/p>\n

Nathan Rundle, Gigaclear<\/a>’s CEO, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n
