In response, the comparison site has published a new survey of customer service, which sees <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-184\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/youfibre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"YouFibre Broadband\">YouFibre<\/a>, <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-187\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/trooli\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Trooli Broadband ISP\">Trooli<\/a> and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-144 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/zen_internet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"zen internet\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.zen.co.uk\">Zen Internet<\/a> top the table.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Consumers typically send their complaints about internet service and phone providers to different places, such as the provider itself, <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-133 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ofcom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"ofcom\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ofcom.org.uk\">Ofcom<\/a>, the <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-129 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/ispa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"ispa\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispa.org.uk\">ISPA<\/a> or any one of two independent <strong>Alternative Dispute Resolution<\/strong> (ADR) complaints handlers (i.e. <strong>Communications Ombudsman<\/strong> or <strong>CISAS<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> The figure of 34,000 for 2023 (up from 24,800 in 2022) represents complaints raised, not the number of customers that raised the complaints \u2013 sometimes customers raise more than one complaint.<\/div>\n<p>Ofcom does not typically investigate individual complaints themselves (they normally leave that up to ISPs and the ADR process), but they can use the feedback to help identify wider problems, which may result in larger investigations and possible penalties. For example, the regulator is currently investigating <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-65\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"virgin media\">Virgin Media<\/a> over digital phone migrations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/02\/ofcom-investigate-virgin-media-uk-over-digital-phone-migrations.html\">here<\/a>) and problems with service cancellations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/07\/ofcom-investigate-virgin-media-uk-over-customer-cancellations.html\">here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>In response to this rise in complaints, the comparison site has today published new research that examines customer care in the broadband industry and ranks providers by their quality of customer service, among other things. But it&#8217;s worth noting that the results were based on a fairly small survey of 2,662 broadband bill payers &#8211; collected from 28th September 2023 &#8211; 8th February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the top providers for customer service quality were found to be <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-184\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/youfibre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"YouFibre Broadband\">YouFibre<\/a> (95%), <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-187\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/trooli\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Trooli Broadband ISP\">Trooli<\/a> (94%) and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-144 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/zen_internet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"zen internet\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.zen.co.uk\">Zen Internet<\/a> (89%). By comparison, the worst three providers were named as <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-15\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/onestream\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"onestream\">Onestream<\/a> (48%), <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-136\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/airband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"airband\">Airband<\/a> (55%) and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/shellenergy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"shell energy\">Shell Energy<\/a> (58%). In terms of just the biggest four &#8211; <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-145\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"BT\">BT<\/a> ranked 11th (70%), <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-86\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/bskyb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Sky Broadband\">Sky Broadband<\/a> tied with <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-145\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/britishtelecom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"BT\">BT<\/a>&#8217;s score, <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-59\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/tt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"talktalk\">TalkTalk<\/a> ranked 16th (66%) and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-65\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/vm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"virgin media\">Virgin Media<\/a> was way down in 22nd position (59%).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Survey of Customer Service Quality<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>1.
