This normally enables consumers with a supporting Smartphone to harness their home broadband or other <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-124 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/wifi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"wifi\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_wireless.php\">WiFi<\/a> connection in order to make mobile voice calls.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The situation for some customers appears to have started early yesterday evening (or late afternoon), while others only began to notice it today. Complaints about the outage can be found littered across <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/search?q=ee%20wifi%20calling&amp;src=typed_query&amp;f=live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-43\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/eebroadband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"ee home broadband\">EE<\/a>&#8217;s own <a href=\"https:\/\/community.ee.co.uk\/t5\/Mobile-Network-discussions\/Wifi-Calling-Stopped-Working-31st\/td-p\/1414821\/page\/6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Forum<\/a>, as well as via our own inbox.<\/p>\n<p>Customers who have managed to reach EE&#8217;s support via the phone are being told, via an automated message, that &#8220;<em>we are attempting to fix a known problem with Wi-Fi calling,<\/em>&#8221; while others claim that EE told them they&#8217;re &#8220;<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">working on it as high priority and should be fixed within a couple of days<\/i>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The operator doesn&#8217;t yet appear to have issued a more public statement, but we are currently attempting to get one. The outage itself appears to have been a bit sporadic, since it appeared to be working again for some earlier this morning, but has since fallen over again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE 4:11pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve had a comment from EE.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>A spokesperson for EE told ISPreview:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re aware of an issue affecting some voice calls over <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-124 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/wifi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"wifi\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_wireless.php\">WiFi<\/a>. We&#8217;re working hard to resolve the issue and apologise for any inconvenience. All other voice calls, including those made over apps, are working as normal.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In terms of calls made over apps, they&#8217;re talking about those like WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams or FaceTime that may use WiFi too, but not Wi-Fi Calling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some customers of mobile operator EE (BT) appear to be suffering from an outage or connectivity problems on their Wi-Fi Calling service today.
