{"id":40950,"date":"2025-02-17T12:11:38","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T12:11:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=40950"},"modified":"2025-02-17T12:48:14","modified_gmt":"2025-02-17T12:48:14","slug":"truespeed-suffers-broadband-outage-in-north-somerset-and-bristol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/02\/truespeed-suffers-broadband-outage-in-north-somerset-and-bristol.html","title":{"rendered":"Truespeed Suffers Broadband Outage in North Somerset and Bristol UPDATE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Customers of rural broadband ISP <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-3 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/truespeed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"truespeed\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.truespeed.com\">Truespeed<\/a>, which has deployed their own full fibre (<a class=\"shortlink shortlink-110 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"\" title=\"fttp\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/broadband_fibre_optic.php\">FTTP<\/a>) network across parts of Devon, Wiltshire and Somerset in England, are reporting that the provider appears to be suffering from a service outage that seems to be primarily impacting premises in the Bristol and North Somerset areas.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The problems appear to have started a few minutes before 11am this morning (<a href=\"https:\/\/downdetector.co.uk\/status\/truespeed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>), when customers from across various parts of <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-3 shortlink-chref\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/truespeed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"truespeed\" data-chref=\"https:\/\/www.truespeed.com\">Truespeed<\/a>&#8217;s network (e.g. BS21, BS32 and BS34) began reporting a loss of internet connectivity. The issue looks as if it could be related to DNS or routing\/peering problems, since some customers found their connections worked again once they enabled a <strong>Virtual Private Network<\/strong> (VPN).<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for the provider said: &#8220;<em>We are aware that some customers are facing an outage. Our technical support team are currently working hard to identify and fix the issue. We aim to have service restored as quickly as possible. We thank you for your patience<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At present Truespeed has already covered over 100,000 premises RFS and they\u2019re home to over 21,000 customers (official figures from 12th Jun 2024).
