The deal has received all the necessary regulatory approvals.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The newly combined network reaches <strong>600,000 premises<\/strong> (ready for service) and &#8220;<em>over<\/em>&#8221; <strong>70,000 customers<\/strong> (up from 65k+ in January 2025) across England &#8211; serving parts of around 110 market towns, which makes it one of the largest UK altnets, combining a wholesale full fibre network provider alongside its in-house ISP retail companies (<a class=\"shortlink shortlink-224\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/befibre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"BeFibre Full Fibre Broadband\">BeFibre<\/a> and <a class=\"shortlink shortlink-155\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/zzoomm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Zzoomm Full Fibre Broadband\">Zzoomm<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Zzoomm was originally supported by \u00a3224m in capital = \u00a3100m debt via banks (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2021\/10\/zzoomms-uk-gigabit-fibre-rollout-boosted-by-gbp100m-investment.html\">here<\/a>), \u00a312m from private investors (\u201c<em>big chunk<\/em>\u201d of that comes from Matthew Hare) and \u00a3112m via <strong>Oaktree Capital<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2020\/09\/full-fibre-uk-isp-zzoomm-get-100m-oaktree-boost-to-expand.html\">here<\/a>). By comparison, FullFibre Ltd was backed by investment from <strong>Basalt Infrastructure Partners LLP<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;<em>The business will be in a much stronger position to accelerate organic growth across its two consumer brands and wholesale network. It will also be able to achieve greater operational and financial efficiencies through economies of scale. The larger group will be able to secure funding to support further investment in its networks and, as one of the largest Altnet businesses with excellent infrastructure, is well-positioned to drive M&amp;A across the fragmented sector<\/em>,&#8221; said today&#8217;s brief announcement.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, Matthew Hare, CEO of Zzoomm (pictured &#8211; left), will become Executive Chairman of the combined business, while James Warner, CEO of FullFibre (pictured &#8211; right), will be the new Group CEO. But it still remains to be seen how much &#8220;<em>funding for new builds<\/em>&#8221; might actually be secured and their future roll-out targets are similarly unclear.<\/p>\n<p>The other factor to consider is that today may not mark the completed physical integration of the two networks and customer bases, which tends to be a much longer and more complex process (similar agreements have taken around a year, or sometimes longer, to deliver on this aspect).
