{"id":43151,"date":"2025-09-17T12:42:39","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T11:42:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/?p=43151"},"modified":"2025-09-17T12:42:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T11:42:39","slug":"gofibre-to-grow-uk-broadband-engineering-fleet-by-140-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/09\/gofibre-to-grow-uk-broadband-engineering-fleet-by-140-vehicles.html","title":{"rendered":"GoFibre to Grow UK Broadband Engineering Fleet by 140 Vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Edinburgh-based UK alternative network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofibre.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GoFibre<\/a>, which is rolling out a gigabit broadband (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) network across remote rural parts of Scotland and Northern England, has today signed a new deal with <a href=\"https:\/\/jct600vehicleleasingsolutions.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">JCT600 Vehicle Leasing Solutions<\/a> (VLS) to deliver a 140-vehicle fleet in order to support their network deployments.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The operator currently expects their roll-out of a new Fibre-to-the-Premises (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/link\/fttp\">FTTP<\/a>) based broadband network to reach a footprint of 250,000 premises \u201c<em>in the next 3 years<\/em>\u201c, which has recently been boosted by several major Project Gigabit contracts with the government. But to deliver on all that will require the smaller operator to scale-up their operations and engineering teams, which is where today&#8217;s agreement may help.<\/p>\n<div class=\"bq2\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/gofibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">GoFibre<\/a>, which is supported by a private funding of <strong>\u00a3289m<\/strong> from Gresham House, Hamburg Commercial Bank and the SNIB (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/01\/borderlink-get-gbp164m-for-full-fibre-rollout-in-north-england-and-scotland.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/08\/gofibre-get-125m-funding-boost-to-support-scotland-gigabit-broadband-rollout.html\">here<\/a>), has so far covered <strong>123,000 premises<\/strong> (RFS) across over 30 \u201c<em>local areas<\/em>\u201d in rural Scotland and North England. But they\u2019re also got \u00a3145m (state aid) in Project Gigabit contracts (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/09\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-teesdale.html\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2022\/10\/gofibre-win-north-northumberland-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract.html\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/02\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-scottish-borders.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/2025\/07\/gofibre-win-project-gigabit-broadband-rollout-contract-for-north-east-scotland.html\">here<\/a>).<\/div>\n<p>Rather than just accepting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/gofibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">GoFibre<\/a>\u2019s initial specification, JCT600 VLS consulted multiple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ispreview.co.uk\/index.php\/go\/gofibre\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">GoFibre<\/a> and external stakeholders to understand actual usage patterns and operational requirements. This collaborative approach revealed the need for enhanced safety features, bespoke racking systems, required electrical equipment, and a unified solution for vehicle tracking and dashboard cameras.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"bq1\"><p><strong>John Fraser, Fleet Manager at GoFibre, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new vehicles are a tremendous addition to GoFibre\u2019s fleet, utilising the strength and salience of our brand, while providing the flexible transport solution that our teams need.
